Olive Award WINS 2014

Olive was awarded the accolade of Managed Service Reseller of the Year after a rigorous submission and judging process, followed by a public vote from resellers, distributors, vendors and customers.

Olive’s entry was based on a combination of impressive customer testimonials, innovative managed telecoms services, strong financial performance and an unwavering commitment to its staff.

The judging panel noted: “The entries were exceptionally strong this year, with most containing solid customer and channel references to back up claims of excellence. There were also signs of the transition in the industry towards managed services, with channel providers using that approach to the market popping up in most categories.”

Olive’s award winning entry for the Enterprise Converged Solution of the Year was based on its work for BPP, Europe’s largest specialist professional education, training and publishing provider.

To meet BPP’s needs to enable flexible working both in the UK and abroad, Olive proposed a converged solution to enable employees to maintain the same level of productivity wherever they are. As part of the contract, BPP were able to obtain a commercially compelling tariff on the Vodafone network, halving their existing call costs, as a result of Olive’s Platinum Partner status.

Independently judged, the Comms Business Awards are designed to genuinely recognise excellence and star quality within the Channel. The Enterprise Converged Solution category was judged on entries containing case studies of projects for customers of over 500 employees.

The award for Outstanding IT Initiative recognised the strategic and rapid move Olive has made to run its own business on cloud-based technologies, incorporating Microsoft Office 365 and CRM, and the efficiencies seen from this shift.

The Chairman of the GBE judges explains why Olive won: “Olive Communications has experienced a period of rapid growth as it acquired three new businesses and workforce increased four-fold. However its business model using its old IT system could not support the growth.”

“Rather than try and make-do, Olive has invested in a new cloud-based system that is delivering outstanding results in saving time and giving employees access to data, whether in the office or working remotely. Congratulations to Olive for carrying out such a major IT initiative over such a short period, making the company well placed for continued growth.”
